The syllabus is a brochure page
CLAT's syllabus is whatever the Consortium of National Law Universities prints for your route and your year. The tells you to download that brochure before you buy a book. This page tells you how to convert the relevant pages into a revision map. Confirm on the official authority for the year you are applying. A famous five-part memory is a hypothesis you test against the brochure. It is not a finding you may tattoo onto a timetable.
People recite English, current affairs and general knowledge, legal reasoning, logical reasoning, and quantitative techniques because those labels have appeared in Consortium material. Look for them. If the year's brochure uses them, your map uses them. If it splits, merges, or renames a label, your map follows the rename. Preparing a label the brochure dropped is how a long reading habit misses the paper that was actually set. The Telangana list in the note is not a backup CLAT syllabus.
Turn sections into skills
For each section the brochure names, write the skill in a sentence: what you will be given, and what you must do with it. A section called legal reasoning is not "know all cases." It is, typically, reading a passage that states a rule and applying it. A quantitative section is not "become an engineer." It is the level of numerical reading the brochure describes. If your sentence cannot be tied to the brochure's gloss, you are writing a wish. Wishes expand. The paper does not.
Do not freeze weights
If the brochure prints marks or question shares, copy them onto the map with the page number and the date. If it does not, leave the cell blank. Do not compute a share from a memory of a previous cycle and then build a life around it. A blank cell keeps you revising every named section. A fake share lets you neglect one. When a corrigendum changes a share, the date on your cell tells you the cell is old. Update it. Do not argue with the corrigendum because your book was printed earlier.
Undergraduate and postgraduate maps
Make the map for the route you are taking. An undergraduate brochure and a postgraduate brochure can both say CLAT and still test different things. A postgraduate candidate who revises only school-level passages, or an undergraduate who tries to memorise the entire law syllabus of an LLB, has used the wrong map. Read the route's name on the cover every time you sit down. It takes one second and prevents a month of the wrong depth.
How the sections tend to behave, without locking them
English work, when the brochure includes it, is close reading: tone, inference, and the meaning of a paragraph, not a spelling bee. Current affairs, when included, are a dated file, and the method is in the note. Legal reasoning, when included, is passage-and-principle work, taught in the note. Logical reasoning, when included, is argument structure. Quantitative work, when included, is careful arithmetic in a short context. Each "when included" is deliberate. Drop the drill if the brochure drops the section. Keep the drill honest if the brochure keeps it.
Depth stops at the task. You do not owe a commentary on every doctrine because a passage mentioned a right. You owe a correct application of the passage. Fuller subject notes on this site can make a word less mysterious. They are not additional Consortium sections. If you enjoy them, schedule them after the map's sections are stable, and do not let them eat the week.
A hypothetical about a laminated card
Hypothetical. A shop sells a laminated CLAT syllabus card with no year. It lists five sections and a percentage on each. Rhea sticks it above her desk. Her downloaded brochure, when she finally opens it, uses the same five names but she has not checked the percentages, and she has not checked whether her route is the undergraduate one the card assumes. The lamination made the card feel official. Official is the PDF with the Consortium's name and the year.
She copies the brochure's section names by hand and writes "see brochure, do not use the card's percentages" across the laminate. If the percentages match, she may copy them with a page number. If they do not, the card is decoration. Her brother preparing for a State test is not allowed to photograph the laminate. His syllabus is a different booklet. One household can have two maps. It cannot have one laminated compromise.
A checklist before the timetable
Build the map, then the week. 1. Download the brochure for your route and write the year. 2. List only sections the brochure names, in its order. 3. Write the skill under each section in one sentence grounded in the brochure's gloss. 4. Copy weights only with a page number, or leave them blank. 5. Point each section at one practice habit, not at five books. 6. Mark undergraduate or postgraduate on the sheet. 7. Confirm on the official authority for the year you are applying, and reread after any corrigendum.
The note will not rescue a map built from the laminate. It assumes the brochure is the list. If you skip this checklist, the preparation note will efficiently revise the wrong thing.
The catalogue does not issue the syllabus
Kanoons Academy does not currently list a separate LAWCET, CLAT, or AP LAWCET batch in the catalogue; these notes are study material, and counselling is via . The nearest catalogue course is . That course teaches how to read an Act, a rule, and a judgment note. It is not a CLAT syllabus class, and the button on this page uses the course's own name.
No one here has an advance section list. If a seller does, ask them for the brochure page. If they cannot show it, you already have a better document: the Consortium's own, with blanks where it is silent.
Frequently asked questions
Is the five-section list guaranteed?
No. It is a description of areas candidates should look for. The brochure for your year is the list. If a section is renamed, dropped, or reweighted, your map follows the brochure.
Are undergraduate and postgraduate syllabi the same?
Do not assume it. Download the brochure for your route. A postgraduate test can emphasise different skills, including the law you have already studied.
Should I study the entire Constitution?
Study what the brochure places under its legal section, at the depth of that section's task. A degree-level essay is optional clarity, not an extra official topic.
Does the TS LAWCET syllabus cover CLAT?
No. Telangana headings are a different booklet. Overlap in careful reading does not merge the lists.
Where are the section-wise marks?
In the brochure, if it prints them. Copy them with the page number. This article will not publish a weightage that can go stale.
Does the academy publish a CLAT syllabus PDF?
No. The Consortium publishes the syllabus that matters. These notes teach you how to use it.
